Insurance Billing
The Well Woman Functional Medicine is a cash‑based practice. I do not bill commercial insurance companies directly, with the exception of Medicare. If you have private insurance, I’m happy to provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) that you may submit for possible reimbursement. Many patients also use superbills for FSA/HSA reimbursement. I am NOT OPTED OUT of Medicare.
All Medicare‑covered services provided during your visit, such as diagnosing, medication management, ordering labs, and medically necessary evaluation and management must be billed directly to Medicare and your secondary insurance.
Non‑covered services (the functional medicine portion of your care) are billed separately through my membership program. These include:
Functional interpretation of labs
Lifestyle and nutrition support
Wellness counseling
Root‑cause mapping
Ongoing coaching and messaging
Extended time beyond what Medicare covers
This hybrid model allows you to receive comprehensive functional medicine care while ensuring all Medicare‑covered services are billed appropriately and compliantly.
